A festive
novella featuring America's favorite prayer group, the Yada Yadas!
Sometimes dubbed "chick-lit" for their bright covers and catchy titles,
this series provides far more depth than witty banter and wacky
situations. Inspired by a prayer group of real women, each book will
have you laughing, crying, and perhaps praying anew. In this highly
anticipated installment, the Yada Yada sisters-a group of multi-cultural
friends-and their families prepare for the event of the season.
This is the latest installation to the Yada Yada
prayer groups series. I was surprised to see it was so small
compared to other books, but then I noticed it is billed as a
"novella". Being smaller, however, in no way means that the
book was less powerful. Jackson always fills her novels with
plenty of Scripture and tips for daily living, encouraging the
reader to dig deep into their own soul and examine their
relationship with God and others.
This book was especially meaningful as it brought so
many of the storylines from other editions to a close. I found
myself in tears as mistakes were rectified and forgiven, bitterness
dissolved, and love covering a multitude of sins.
I include this book in the holiday section because
there were themes that involve the winter holiday. Included
are a Christmas Eve surprise and a touching description of a "Watch
Night" service on New Years Eve.
The only thing I didn't like about this book is at
the end we were told that it is the last installment in the Yada
Yada series. Though Jackson wrapped up all loose ends, it is
sad to know there will be no more books to look forward to.
The good news: Neta Jackson is working on a new series where
she promises to keep us update on the lives of our favorite Yada
Yada sisters as their lives mingle with the characters in her new
series.
If you are a fan of the series, make sure you read
this final installment. You won't be disappointed!
