A gentle story of hope, April 18, 2007
Though the themes were tragic, this was a very compelling story.
A strong family drama set in Kansas during the Depression era, this
family endured trial after trial. The author writes with her usual
softness but even her tenderness does not protect the reader from the
harsh realities of life. Historical fiction readers will
appreciate Kim Vogel Sawyer's deep look at what a 1930s family did to
survive on a drought ridden Plains.
