David Anderson is a pastor of a multi-ethnic church in Baltimore and brings his own experiences into his writing of this book. Drawing on the Apostle Paul's illustration from 1 Corinthians of the church as a body, Anderson discusses how to treat different parts of the church body in the most appropriate ways--protecting some, honoring others, treating some with special modesty, etc. He goes on to extend these thoughts to our multi-cultural neighbors. In this book the author encourages people to be gracious to minorities and help them live a quality life. Scripture teaches that we should reach out to those in poverty and who may be less fortunate than ourselves. Anderson skillfully explains this biblical mandate to care for the marginalized. While he encourages us to pray and worship with those of other ethnic group, he eggs us on to make a practical difference in people's lives.
