The Call to Joy and Pain does an excellent job in reminding us that life isn't always a bed of roses, but as Christians we will experience pain that God will use for our own good and to bring Him glory. The author points out that going through trials does NOT mean God is punishing us, but preparing us for the future. Fernando uses very short chapters each containing a poignant story to bring about his message: We can find joy through the pain. This was not light reading, but very worth my time. ~Reviewed by Patricia Chadwick
