Zondervan (Hardcover)
Believers universally affirm that evangelism is a vital part of what God calls them to do, but very few make a practice of doing it. They feel awkward and ill-equipped, either because they've never been trained, or because their lack of interaction with non- Christians prevents them from using and developing the skills they do have. Bill Hybels addresses these concerns and signals the next era in personal evangelism with Just Walk Across the Room. Drawing on fresh perspectives from the author's own experiences, as well as time-tested and practical illustrations, Just Walk Across the Room encourages and equips readers to routinely initiate spiritual conversations with those who don't know Christ.
The book is full of great stories and examples on how to naturally share your faith with others. Pastor Hybels believes evangelism should be relational. In other words, we need to earn the right to share our faith with others by becoming a part of their lives.
If you feel you've grown cold in your heart toward those
outside the faith, this book will light the fire in your heart once
again.

Description: Gerrit and Joan discovered the
beauty of second chances when they fell in love. But life isn’t
“happily ever after” when the widowed dairy farmer and big-city
piano teacher get married. When they move to Chicago to pursue a
teaching opportunity for Joan, Gerrit the country boy must find new
purpose in an unfamiliar urban world. It’s not an easy change for
him, but his friendship with Zhao, a visiting Chinese musician,
begins to give him new purpose. Meanwhile, Joan tries to accept her
husband for who he is, even as she struggles to find her place as a
music professor in this clash between small-town values and big-city
ways.
This was a nice story that mixed humor and heart. While it was not "laugh out loud" funny, it had its humorous moments, even though sadness overshadowed the humor at times. Elmer wrote a great love story as we follow the main characters on a journey to keep their love alive. It was written really well and you felt the emotions of the characters throughout the book.
